And what you give is what you get
I’m sorry, I really am; I know you’ll have heard this just over one thousand times in the past couple of weeks but I feel obligated to say it.
I would be neglecting my duties not to say a quick word about something infinitely more important than making your work look pretty: doing it right. In terms of school work, the most important thing is the content—aesthetics come next. Even in an essay for your Art lesson, you won’t get the marks by beautifully presenting gibberish.
While the idea that all your work should look beautiful is important and helps your teachers get a good feeling about you, it should be used to enhance already great content. Make sure what you are writing is the best essay you can possibly write. Some teachers have their own system they like you to follow—I have my own customised one; it is always best to have some system so your essay isn’t total literary anarchy.
I would really hope I don’t need to say this but turn up to your lessons. You can’t possibly write something fantastic if you haven’t a clue on what to write about.
I’m sorry I had to do that. It was kind of a must-do sort of thing. You’re teachers don’t just say it to irritate you; if you think about it, it benefits them for you to get the best marks so they have that motivation as well as the satisfaction of watching us grow up (Awww).
Anyway, have a good year, get great marks, enjoy yourselves and try to do your very best in everything you try to do. Good luck!
